Thanks For a Great Season at Elkhorn!

Forgot to take my camera to Elkhorn during setup on Saturday.  Forgot to take my camera to Elkhorn on Sunday.  Sheesh!  No pics..sorry.  I did make some altered spool photo holders just before heading out, and most of them sold. I believe most of them are headed for Japan.  (There was a  bit of a language barrier but we got the deal done.)  It was a wonderful 2011 season at Elkhorn and I want to thank each of you that shopped our booth.  YOU are the best and we appreciate you, old friends and new!

There was some amazin' stuff out on the grounds at Elkhorn yesterday and our buds that set up outside really had to fight the weather to sell. Pouring rain followed by sunshine, followed by sideways rain, followed by clouds, followed by showers, followed by clear skies, followed by downpours of Biblical proportions....(repeat)...we were happy to be inside where we only had to contend with one leak in the roof.   CHiPPy!-SHabbY! Jeanine, Margaret from Lady Libertys and Diane Passi had amazing stuff and I hope the buyers didn't let the weather deter them.  (I know there were other friends outside but I didn't get to see them.) 

There's never much time for me to shop at Elkhorn, but I did make one fun purchase from a neighboring dealer.

A bag of scroll-cut name pins.  These are old-timey...check out the names!

Aren't they the cutest?

They'll be appearing in my etsy shop soon.

Well, It's Hot...

 ...but it's still better than SNOW!  After a week off, we're back to work and there's plenty to do.  Some crazy person booked two shows this weekend.  Two. One on Saturday two hours Northwest of here...and one on Sunday, 2 hours South.  What was I thinking? We'll give you a sneak peek next post.  In the meantime, it's Tuesday and so it's Blogger's Bodega - head over there and see what everyone's been adding to their shops.  Here are some items we've recently added to Gracie's Cottage on etsy... 

Elkhorn...Bad Weather and Happy Shoppers

Wow, it's been a surreal spring in Wisconsin. The best thing we can say is that it hasn't been snowing. Rain, wind and clouds have ruled the skies most of the time. I flew in from Brimfield Saturday afternoon and went straight to Elkhorn for setup. Kathy saved my bacon by handling the "heavy lifting" and getting all the basics in place for our booth before I arrived so that we could get right to unpacking. (I owe you one, Kathy!)



The weather was so awful that many of the outside dealers opted out of this show...that's extremely rare here. They normally persevere because the shoppers will be out in any weather. They came in droves on Sunday.


It was so crowded that many times we had to "body block" the entrances to our space. (We've had to adopt a "max of 10 shoppers in at one time" policy, after some "pilferage" when the booth is packed.)



The day went by in a blur...thanks so much to everyone that came out. Lory, Steve & Barb, Katie, Hope, Jeanine & Jeff, Kathy from Upper Michigan, Pam from Fresh Eggs, Allison from My Artsy Fartsy Life...it was great to see each of you, (and everyone else that's escaping my foggy brain at the moment.)

It is Tuesday and that means it's Bloggers Bodega over at Capers of the Vintage Vixens..go check it out! The first of my boxes from Brimfield arrived yesterday and I've begun the process of reloading Gracie's Cottage on etsy with fun finds. Check back often for new listings.

Next post will be more on Brimfield....my laptop died the day before leaving home so off to the repair shop we went yesterday. Awkwardness rules as I try to blog bouncing between the iPad and our dinosaur pc. See ya soon!
